LG K7 – Top five features of the budget smartphone

Decent selfie features in budget

The main highlight of the LG K7 is its selfie-centric front shooter. The phone sports a 5-megapixel secondary shooter on the front, accompanied by an LED flash. The device lets you capture quality selfies under the low light conditions.

The phone also sports camera-centric features like gesture shot, tap and shot, etc. As for the rear snapper, the handset offers the same 5-megapixel camera sensor at the rear, just like the front snapper.

Excellent design

The LG K7 sports an eye-catching design, and just like the LG G series flagship devices, it sports a power button sandwiched between the volume rocker keys at the back. The volume rocker and power buttons placement is right below the rear camera.

The device offers a pebble-like finish at the back, and sports curved edges that make the phablet-category phone easy to hold in one hand. The back panel of the handset is textured, and the handset sports also sports curved corners. It measures 8.9mm around the waist and tips the scale at 141 grams.

Compact display

The LG K7 is for those looking for a compact smartphone in the phablet category. The phone offers a 5-inch 2.5D curved display. The device offers a paltry screen resolution of 854 x 480 pixels and a pixel density of 196 pixels per inch. Since the LG K7 offers low pixels count, it will only offer a mediocre media viewing experience.

Decent configuration

Performance on the LG K7 is handled by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor that offers a clock speed of 1.1GHz. The processor of the device is further supported by 1.5GB of RAM and an Adreno 304 GPU. The phone is capable of smoothly running casual games, but don’t expect it to run high-end games without lagging.

As for the storage, the phone is equipped with 8-gigs of internal memory, which users can further increase up to 32GB by inserting a microSD card.

Android Lollipop with gesture support

The fifth best feature of the LG K7 budget smartphone is software. The phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, and comes pre-loaded with the brand’s UX on top. It isn’t loaded with a lot of bloatware, except for some extras like LG Backup and SmartWorld applications. The device offers several gestures for its cameras.

It offers Gesture Shot, Gesture Interval Shot for selfies, and lets you capture photos by raising an open hand in front of the snapper and then clenching it into a fist.

Conclusion

The LG K7 is one of the best budget smartphones from the South Korean manufacturer. The phone offers a decent display, decent configuration, impressive selfie features in the budget price range, 4G LTE support, and a decent battery life. It is one of the first smartphones by the company to have been manufactured in India.

It is for those looking for a compact design, decent performance and camera-centric features from a smartphone with brand value in the budget price range.
