The most highly anticipated Smartphone is finally in the market and as you read the review, you will agree with us that the device has top end features and it is a powerful device to come out from the Samsung arsenal.
The size of Samsung Galaxy S4 is the same as its predecessor, which means you don’t have to adjust holding the device. The screen size has been increased to 5 inches and it has full HD resolution. The screen size is not something which Samsung could boast only. Other recent releases, the HTC One and Sony Xperia Z, boast of a greater and better screen size. All of the three devices have similar screen resolution but Samsung Galaxy S4 makes use of Super AMOLED HD screen which is just mind blowing.
There is a greater storage space for media files and the memory card is expandable. You have access to data slots like NFC, Bluetooth and 4G connections. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has undergone a lot of software updates too. It has a powerful camera; better media file navigation, dedicated homepage apps and better media consumption nodes.
The camera has some interesting features such as Sound and Shot where you have nine seconds of sound appended to the photo for you to add a message. There is the Drama mode where you can show a moving figure in multiple phases of a shot. There’s the Eraser shot where you can remove objects from the images, similar to Content Aware tool of Photoshop. There is also Live Filter and Animation Shot.
Live Filter gives you real time preview of videos and photos. Animation shot allows you to record animation, edit objects and length, and then save the file as a GIF.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Design
The device is impressive. It’s lightweight and about 8mm in thickness; it’s like holding a piece of very light plastic. The quality is much better than its predecessor and with a better construction. The device uses faux metal band to give it a premium feel. Of course, the device is itself in the premium category.
Let there not be any two thoughts about it. The appearance is similar to Samsung Galaxy S3. The phone has a narrower bezel and it feels wonderful to hold in hand. It’s just the right fit, perfect. If you have used LG devices, you will find that the S4 is similar to the LG Optimus G PRO in terms of its polycarbonate structure and sturdiness.
The Samsung guys must have learned from their Galaxy Note device as the power / lock button is better positioned, a bit on the right hand side. The volume key is easily accessible. The Home key feels more solid. The other two buttons, Menu and Back key, are perfectly placed and they light up nicely when in use.
The phone is full of sensors, above the screen. For example, the camera can track your eye movement and it also has a proximity sensor to sense the location of the phone in relation to your ear.
The top of the phone has an infra-red blaster used to control satellite box, TV, DVD player and even the air conditioner.
Conclusion
While some of you may think that Samsung Galaxy S4 is just an update of Galaxy S3, we urge you to check out the device for yourself. The device is a step forward for Samsung and we hope it works for them. For Indian buyers, the device is going to cost you a cool 40,000 INR. You can do some comparison shopping around few e-commerce sites for a better price.
