Xperia Tablet S Review. Tablets are quite popular today and have come a long way since they were introduced first by Microsoft in the year 2000 as Microsoft Tablet PC. However, it was only in the year 2010 that Apple came out with iPad that stormed the market and is still a rage the world over.
With unique features like pinch-to-zoom and ‘bounce back’ besides the usability and extended battery life made this modern gadget an all time favorite. The touchscreen and virtual keyboard that are the other highlights of a Tablet have made it quite indispensable in today’s world that seems to be in a hurry all the time.
Xperia X 1 was introduced as a Smartphone by Sony in 2008. Deriving the term Xperia from the word experience, Sony went on to make this name a popular brand in the market. Though the Xperia Tablet S is no lighter than the iPad, it feels lighter because of the design and the clever, even weight distribution. When positioned on your lap or at your desk, the viewing angle is so perfect that prolonged use will certainly not give a crick in the neck that laptops and tablets are infamous for.
The screen of Xperia Tablet S that measures 9.4 inches is endowed with a resolution of 1280 X 800 is great and hardly throws back any reflections, though it could have been a bit brighter. The surface could have been made of material that is a bit more scratch-proof too. There is a 5 Megapixel camera built-in on the back which looks pretty smart.
Xperia Tablet S is armed with a king-sized SD card reader. The light-weight material that was obviously used to reduce the overall weight has told upon the overall quality and finish. This is one gadget that needs to be handled with velvet gloves, especially by people who are constantly on the go. The battery is sturdy enough with enough power to go on for days on a single charge.
You get the customary software built on Honeycomb. In case you have a TV that is compliant with DLNA or Digital Living Network Alliance, you will be able to wirelessly stream videos directly from the Xperia Tablet S to your TV, or audio to your DLNA certified stereo. However, the same does not apply for the gaming. The IR port or the Infrared port in the tablet enables you to use it as a universal remote control.
Quick View is a feature that tweaks the web browser and makes the pages load faster and thus has done away with the painful waiting associated with most browsers. The Favorites app that is included makes the home-screen pretty easy to use. Even playing old games on the Tablet S is a pleasure, though those kinds of games are strictly not meant to be played with a touchscreen.
Speed is of essence, and the Xperia Tablet S is endowed with incredible speed that enables booting in seconds. With pretty smooth scrolling, navigating fast to play complex games is pretty easy. True to its name, Sony has come with a product Xperia Tablet S that has least complaints and plenty of great points.
